The perfect gift for a horselover?

Updated: Jun 18, 2020

For those of you that don't know me personally, I am horse mad. I have always loved these wonderful creatures and finally took up riding in my early twenties. I was lucky enough to go on to own my horse of a lifetime. She is sadly no longer here, and although I don't ride anymore, I am now the proud co-owner of a wonderful big chestnut mare who sees me as her scratching buddy/treat source!

I know that it can be difficult to know what to buy for that horsey friend - especially when you don't know what they need or what size their horse is. However, the one thing about horse owners is that you can bet that they put their horses before themselves, so treating them to a personal gift is always a nice idea. I have a couple of suggestions...

Firstly, you could gift one of my Snaffle Necklaces which come in a choice of either gold or black mesh chain or silver-plated chain. All versions come gift-boxed, making them the perfect present.

Secondly, you could give them a voucher for, or commission, a wirework portrait of their equine friend, past or present, from the super-talented contemporary artist, Ruth Slater.

This stunning portrait is our chestnut mare and we were blown away by how perfect a likeness Ruth was able to achieve with this style and without colour. Ruth also works in colour (and with any animal) for a more traditional style of portrait, but I love the contemporary look of her wirework style.

You can check out all of Ruth's work at www.ruthslater.com

AM, hello :)

Ended up here via F'book. Must say I'm a little more than very impressed :) Knew you were clever, didn't know you were artistic too :).

I like the cufflinks in particular . Very cool :). Would you ship to far flung Norway?
